Expandable side table Alhena

The expandable side table Alhena is a limited edition design by Jacobsroom Studio, Rome.
This contemporary and ultra-slim side table is built from sheets of very thin metal foil to highlight the elegant, unique geometry of its composition: the abstract shape takes inspiration from an evocative celestial body, the bright star Alhena, which is located at the left foot of the Gemini constellation.

Its ultra-modern and light design perfectly harmonizes with a minimalist modern living room, or contemporary open space.

The name Alhena was interpreted by the Persian astronomer Al-Biruni to mean ‘winding’, as though the stars of the constellation were weaving around one another or curving away from the central star. The three layers of the table’s top seem to weave and extend over one another in homage to their celestial muse.
